Chamomile is the common name for several daisy-like plants of the family Asteraceae. The chamomile plant's flowers and buds are harvested for tea as the flowers open. Chamomile has a reputation for healing and is a popular beverage across the world. Chamomile tea contains Chamazulene, an aromatic chemical compound that possesses anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antispasmodic properties.
The benefits of chamomile tea are in abundance. It comes with longstanding medicinal, and spiritual uses and is widely used as an alternative and natural medicine, researchers continue to study chamomile's potential. Studies also suggest that it may be helpful for people with diabetes, osteoarthritis, and cardiovascular conditions.
The tea can be very calming, acting as a natural sedative and stress reliever. May reduce symptoms associated with muscle spasms and pain, menstrual cramps and disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders.
